I don’t know about you, but I like acoustic music, so here I have an acoustic album released by DV8 for you. Although I never knew the singer Ruby Paul before, I think it’s worth a try for me. 12 tracks are included in this album.

Ruby’s new record reflects her live sound. Unlike “Velvet Glove”, there are no big arrangements: it’s simply one voice, one guitar, throughout? While the stripped back approach is popular with contemporary artists such as Jack Johnson, this project started out by looking back to the era of Karen Carpenter.

Two more releases from DV8. The 1st one is some blues music, the latest album “From The Water” from Canadian musician, songwriter and record producer Colin Linden. Linden is primarily a blues guitarist, although he frequently collaborates with country and folk performers. 14 tracks are included in this album.

“From The Water” can also be viewed as an homage of sorts. Colin’s long-time musical collaborator and closest friend, legendary keyboardist Richard Bell, passed away in 2007, and his spirit is omnipresent here. The dynamic duo played on over 100 albums together (more than 40 of them Linden productions), including records by The Band, Bruce Cockburn, Lucinda Williams, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and Colin James.
